What does it take to be a leader?
In my view...
Sometimes it's taking decisive action.
Sometimes it means letting things marinate for a bit.
Sometimes it means keeping fuel in the tanks for when it's needed most.
Sometimes it's giving everything you have, until there is no more to give.
Sometimes it's getting way out ahead and leading the charge.
Sometimes it's failing way behind to make sure everyone on the team makes it.
Sometimes it’s influencing others to follow you.
Sometimes it’s being influenced to follow.
Sometimes it’s saying yes.
Sometimes it’s saying no.
Sometimes it’s offering help.
Sometimes it’s asking for help.
Leadership is complex and dynamic.
What do you think?
Do you see yourself as a leader? Why? Or Why Not?
What are your biggest challenges with leadership?
What expectations do you have of leaders that are not being fulfilled?
Often by examining our judgments of how others are leading we can mine the truth of how we are craving to show up in this world. To lead. To serve.
What does this bring up for you?
I have a hunch there is a part of you that is capable of leading beyond what you may think…
Tell me where I am wrong.
What would it take?
I want to know.
Yours in the journey,
