Blue Moon

Oct 30, 2020

Once every 2.7 years-we get a second full moon in a calendar month.  We just so happen to get that this Saturday, October 31st (Halloween).

(check out https://www.livescience.com/halloween-full-blue-moon.html for more info on this moon)

Cool right?

I’m someone who equally loves both the science and mystery of life.  Uncovering evidence based facts and leaving room for the possibility of the unknown.

Understanding the Moon’s cycle and its relationship to our earth and our systems dynamics is no different for me.  I love learning about the science and just observing its patterns in myself as well as being open to the symbology that the moon can hold during its various phases.

“From the beginning of human history, the moon has acted as a ‘cultural mirror’ to our beliefs, understanding and ways of seeing.” (Museum of the Moon my-moon.org)

Each month as the full moon emerges, I’m intrigued by what it means for our plants and animals and our human families and communities.  Specifically the magnetic pull of water in relation to the Moon which creates high and low tides that can be obvious in large bodies of water and less obvious in impact of water elsewhere.  Given that our bodies are made up of 80% water….don’t you find this curious?

Some say the full moon can cause behavior that’s erratic or out of the ordinary.

Others offer the full moon as an opportunity for completion, more clarity and a heightened sense of personal power.

This weekend, I invite you to explore your nature in relationship to the moon.

What do you think?

What are some of the characteristics of the moon that make you more curious about science? Earth systems? Spirituality?

What are some of the myths/messages you’ve learned about the moon that you want to question or dig deeper into?

What are you noticing in others around their thoughts or actions?

Does your body, mind or spirit feel different during a full moon vs other times in the cycle?

If the moon was perfectly placed this weekend to help guide you towards more clarity, completion, or more empowerment….what would that look like for you?

Have a beautiful weekend…finding the balance in both fact and fiction.

Cheers!

Jen
